By 2022, the Government of India hopes to provide the urban poor with affordable housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The program first went live on June 1, 2015. The PMAY scheme has an interest rate that starts at 6.50 percent per year and is available for terms up to 20 years. For the LIG and EWS categories, the deadline to apply for the PMAY CLSS program has been extended to March 31, 2022.
What is Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Manipur (PMAY)?
1) Current projections indicate that the nation's urban population, which has already grown significantly over the past ten years, will experience extraordinary expansion in the years to come. The country's urban population is projected to grow to more than 814 million by 2050.
2) This is an increase from current levels of around 400 million. Providing city people with inexpensive housing, sanitary conditions, development, and a secure environment will be one of the main difficulties the nation will confront. Real estate developers currently oversee the construction of cities, choosing which areas will be developed.
3) Over the past two decades, real estate prices have also soared, leaving the average person with nothing but hopes of purchasing a home.
4) On June 25, 2015, at a launch ceremony in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Housing for All by 2022 initiative, commonly known as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), to address these concerns.

HOW CAN I RECEIVE A PMAY INTEREST SUBSIDY?
Request a house loan from one of the leading companies on the list. The lending institution will assess your application and send it to the Central Nodal Agency if approved. If your application is accepted and there are no problems discovered after verification, the Central Nodal Agency will pay the subsidy to the lending institution. The lending firm will credit this sum to your account, reducing the total loan amount. You can keep making EMI payments toward the remaining loan balance.
HOW MAY PMAY SUBSIDY BE SENT TO THE BORROWER'S BANK?
The Bank where the borrower is taking out the loan will request the National Housing Bank's subsidy benefit on behalf of the qualified applicants (NHB). After that, the National Housing Bank will check whether anyone is submitting repeated applications for the program. The CLSS or subsidy amount will be provided to the borrower's Bank after confirmation. The funds would be immediately credited to the Loan Account after being received.
