Surapet, Chennai

Northwestern Chennai, India's Surapet neighbourhood is also referred to as Surapattu and Surapedu. Puzhal Lake borders Surapet to the west, Kolathur to the east, Puthagaram to the south, and Puzhal to the north. There are three lines in the Chennai Metro's second phase proposal. Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sholinganallur is the third line. Surapet is about 3 km from the projected Retteri and Kolathur metro stations on that line. Surapet is 5 kilometres from Korattur Railway Station, the closest railway station. The two primary train stations in Chennai, Chennai Egmore and Chennai Central, are both located 14 km from Surapet.
