The city of greater Noida lies in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It comes under the Delhi NCR. Situated not very far from the capital of the country greater Noida is just a 30 minutes drive from Delhi through the Greater Noida expressway. During the eighties, the government realized the burden of urbanization in Delhi and decided to develop industrial and commercial areas here to reduce it. Noida extension was developed into greater Noida. It is divided into the sector, and every sector is named after a Greek alphabet. It was earlier known as Noida extension comprising of 16 villages in total. The name was changed to Greater Noida in 2012. The literacy rate here is also good. The Greater Noida authority looks after the development of infrastructure in the city. The government institutions are headed by a divisional commissioner. Industrial and corporate houses have either set up their businesses or are setting up because of its excellent connectivity. Greater Noida has experienced a development boom in the last few years, especially in commercial and residential infrastructure. Two famous residential colonies here are Ace platinum zeta and NRI city. The city is served by frequent bus services and easily accessible by roadways and railways. There are several good schools here like Delhi Public School, Cambridge school, Ryan international school, Father Agnel and Delhi public world school. Apart from that, there are several good universities here like Bennett University, Birla Institute of management technology and Noida international university. The district comes under the Meerut police zone, and there are three police circles in the city to maintain law and order efficiently. The presence of all the civic utilities and easy accessibility has led to the emergence of several undefeated townships in Greater Noida. The Ecotech industrial area is an environment-friendly area that prohibits the setting up of polluting industries here.
