Kalamassery, Kochi

Kalamassery is a municipality in Kerala's Ernakulam district. It is 9.6 kilometres (6.0 miles) northeast of Kochi and is part of the Kochi metropolitan region. Because of its location along NH 66 and proximity to the IT hubs in Kakkanad, the area has seen a significant increase in economic development since the 1980s. Kalamassery is a major industrial and information technology hub in Kochi. The Government of Kerala established the Kalamassery Industrial Estate, which is home to numerous significant corporations. Educational institutions in Kalamassery include the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Ernakulam Medical College, and the Cochin University of Science and Technology.
